IASLT welcomed all recently-graduated speech and language therapists to an informative lunchtime webinar session on Tuesday 20th June 2023 12.30 – 1.30pm. This webinar was aimed at those who are entering the workforce as a newly qualified speech and language therapist, and it coincides with the publication of IASLT’s updated ‘SLT New Graduate Pack’. Important information was delivered by IASLT Chairperson, an SLT Manager, recently-graduated SLTs, and IASLT Professional Development Manager, in order to support new graduates and provide advice as they embark on their SLT career.
Welcome Note from Aine Lawlor, newly-appointed IASLT Chairperson, will open the event and welcome everyone. Aine is an SLT Manager for Primary Care HSE Services in Dublin South City.
Eanna Horan, Acting SLT Manager, Tallaght University Hospital will provide information on transitioning from student to working professional, what to expect when entering the workforce.
Caroline Bouse, IASLT Professional Development Manager will give an overview of CPD requirements, CPD resources and CPD Portfolio
Michaela Sheehan, newly-graduated SLT, CDNT and Laura McSharry, newly-graduated SLT in adult primary care, will discuss their experiences as newly qualified SLTs as well as their roles.
