The National HSCP Office are now inviting applicants to apply for a place on the HSE Health & Social Care Profession’s

Professional Supervision Training Programme for HSE HSCP Supervisors

 

Aim: To equip HSE HSCP Supervisors with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for the effective engagement in and delivery of Professional Supervision as part of their role. 

 

Target Group: experienced HSE HSCP managers and senior practitioners who, as part of their role, have responsibility for the provision of Professional Supervision to others and are themselves actively engaged in their own regular, formal Supervision with a designated supervisor as part of their practice.

 

Programme  A: 10th & 11th October 2018 AND 7th & 8th Nov. 2018

Venue: Navan Road Primary Care Centre, Navan Road, Dublin 7.

Times: 9.30am to 5pm

Closing date for applications: 7th September 2018

 

 

Programme B:  16th & 17th October AND 28th & 29th November 2018

Venue:  Training Centre, Phoenix Hall, St. Mary’s Hospital Campus, Dublin 20.

Times: 9.30am to 5pm

Closing date for applications: 7th September 2018

 

 

Programme C:  22nd & 23rd October AND 20th & 21st November 2018

Venue: SLT Group Room, St. Mary’s HQ. Castlebar, Co. Mayo, F23HP58

Times: 9.30am to 5pm

Closing date for applications: 14th September 2018

 

The content of this Training Programme is informed by the core principles necessary for effective engagement in and delivery of Professional Supervision in the context of the HSE HR Circular 002/2015 Supervision Guidelines for HSC Professionals. It expands on the eLearning module “Professional Supervision for HSCP” available on www.hseland.ie , providing an opportunity to explore and expand on its components through reflection and practice.

The National HSCP Office encompasses more than 25 professions, who are eligible to apply for the HSE Professional Supervision for HSCP Supervisors once they fit the criteria outlined in the information provided. These professions are:

Speech & Language Therapy; Physiotherapy; Psychology; Social Work; Play Therapy; Phlebotomy; Medical Scientist; Radiography; Clinical Engineering;  Radiation Therapy; Medical Physics; Orthoptics; Social Care; Dietetics; Clinical Biochemistry; Clinical Measurement (Umbrella for 5 disciplines); Podiatry; Perfusionists; Occupational Therapy; Audiology; Pharmacy and Counselling.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Furnishing certificate of successful completion of the HSELand eLearning module Professional Supervision for HSCP with the completed application form.
  • Participants must have commitment from their manager for their full participation and to carry out the requirements of the programme.
  • Participants must be in a HSCP senior role with minimum of three years’ experience as a practitioner or in a HSCP manager role.
  • Participants must have responsibility and opportunity for providing regular, formal supervision to others as part of their role. (Minimum of 2 supervisees; ideally 3).
  • Participants must engage in their own regular, formal Professional Supervision with a designated supervisor as part of their practice.

Trainers:

Nominated trainers, across disciplines, who have undertaken the specific HSE HSCP four-day training and development programmes in both Professional Supervision (Supervisors) and Train the Trainer (Professional Supervision).  Each programme is facilitated by two trainers.

 

Application process:

There are 12 to 15 places available on each programme.

Applications will be reviewed in line with the prerequisites outlined.
