Professional Bodies - Development of a HSCP Strategic Framework

Posted by | Administration Officer | Date: 01 Aug 2019 | 13:56pm

Dear Members,

On July 02nd, as IASLT Chairperson, I had opportunity to attend the Launch of the development of a Strategic Framework for the Health and Social Care Professions (HSCP). With over 80 HSCPs in the room, it was an energising day, well facilitated with concrete actions to be taken to ensure HSCP recognition within the DoHC and HSE.  You may have seen the PR campaign to poll for a branding HSCP hashtag... #HSCPsDeliver

The HSCP office will eventually represent 26 HSCPs.  The strength will be in our diversity, yet ensuring Communication as a Human Right is folded into any future strategy must come from IASLT members meaningfully contributing at all levels to national strategic planning. Please see Jackie Reed's invitation to do just that.

If you secure a place on one of the road shows, please let Council know; it  would be beneficial that membership may organise on a collective level ensuring SLCNs and FEDS needs of the people we support are met as an integral part of any DoHC or HSE strategy.

Yours in Membership
