Following on from last week’s email we wanted to let SLTs know about an exciting project that the RADLD campaign have launched this year. This year’s RADLD campaign is ‘DLD – You and Me’ and RADLD want to hear from people with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and their families.  Teachers, SLTs and other professionals can join in too. The RADLD campaign are hoping to gather true stories from many different perspectives, so people from all over the world understand the lived experience of DLD.
It is very important that the voices of those living with DLD is heard so IASLT are encouraging members to support parents, children, young people and adults with DLD who may wish to get involved by telling their stories. An excellent way of getting their message across is to upload a short video or to submit a written piece about DLD on the RADLD website. To do this IASLT are encouraging SLTs to signpost people to the RADLD website at Please see attached poster with details also.
There are clear guidelines on the RADLD website for how to make a video or write a story. These can be found at for videos and for written stories.
IASLT appreciate your support with this project and we are hopeful that as part of the international RADLD campaign that Irish voices and stories will be heard to help raise awareness of DLD.
If any parents of children/young people/adults with DLD wish to get more active and are willing to be available on the day for radio interviews and/or other media opportunities, please ask them to get in touch with IASLT via

As mentioned in last weeks email RADLD and IASLT are interested in pursuing possibilities for “light up” events with key landmarks around Ireland. A letter template is attached this can be used to start the conversation with people in landmark buildings close to you.
