The Role of the SLT in Oral Infection Control
Presentation of the what and why of a SLT's role and responsibility to include oral infection control during patient care. We will review types of oral assessments, medications that exacerbate oral health, how to complete & monitor oral hygiene for medically complex patients, and verbiage to use when documenting intervention.

Speaker Bio: Kelly Martinez is a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) & Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), with clinical experience across the lifespan. Currently, working in private practice to promote the continuity of care from hospital to home. Kelly’s experience covers the evaluation and treatment of Dysphagia, Dysarthria, Neurogenic and Cognitive-Linguistic Disorders. Clinical focus is on airway management and aerodigestive disorders. Kelly always emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning in our field, believing that one should never stop seeking & sharing new knowledge. She is an active member of IASLT, ISTI, and ASHA, including serving as an active ASHA S.T.E.P. mentor for undergrads, graduate students, and post-graduate students in the U.S. and abroad.

Payments need to be made via the payment link provided as this is an integral step in our automatic event management system. Once you have made your payment via the link, your event registration is fully processed and you will receive your receipt and be included in other event notifications to participants.
If your employer will be covering the cost of this course, we suggest that if possible you make the payment and recoup the cost. If this isn't possible, you may also copy your payment link and send to your accounts department so that they can make the payment by card.
