My name is Katie Mohan, and I am a student studying for my Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Speech and Language Studies at Trinity College Dublin. I am conducting a piece of research about the experiences of SLTs in helping in the assessment of decision-making capacity with individuals with communication difficulties in Ireland under the supervision of Katie Burke. This research is a short survey (approx. 8 minutes) that will capture SLT’s experiences working with adults with communication difficulties in Ireland. I am conducting this study to help understand what role SLTs are currently playing in helping assess decision-making capacity with individuals with communication differences and investigate if their unique skillset is being utilised to ensure autonomy amongst this particular group.
