The IASLT Student Committee

The IASLT Student Committee

The IASLT Student committee provides students with an opportunity network with other SLT students, get involved in the organisation of the biennial student conference and become part of the SLT community in Ireland.

The IASLT Student committee aims to have undergraduate student representation from Trinity College Dublin (TCD), National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) and University College Cork (UCC), as well as masters students from the University of Limerick (UL). The student conference presents an opportunity to further the student knowledge base of issues pertinent to the profession, as well as networking with other SLT students.

This year’s Student Committee consisted of three students from UCC (Niamh Bridges, Niamh Brouder and Norma O'Leary) and one from TCD (Natasha O’Dwyer), with Amanda Hassett, IASLT Student and New Graduate Representative, chairing the committee.

The Role of the IASLT Student Committee Includes

  • Liaising with student colleagues, communicating and sharing information regarding the work of IASLT, representing student  interests to IASLT.
  • Organising and promoting the IASLT Student Conference.
  • Attending Student Committee meetings to actively organise the biennial IASLT Student Conference.
  • Attending IASLT Council meetings as required.
